I really liked tonight's episode. There wasn't a whole lot going on to develop the plot, and what kinda got me pressed is that the writers aren't giving the proper closure between Ted and Robin. The appearance of Jeanette was kind of a good set up but how it ended was kind of a letdown. I really thought that when Ted and Robin held hands that he was going to give her the locket though.

Was the plot with Barney going to be the setup to How I Met Your Father?

Same for the spoiler. I was really disappointed that that didn't happen. I thought he would've dove into the lake to look for it since love never stops or whatever . Still a good episode. Probably 2nd or 3rd best of the season.

I think that's what that was with Barney. Otherwise it seemed kinda pointless.

I don't get it either. I thought he gave her the locket in the season pilot? If not, my memory sucks but if so, then how did he get the locket?

The thing between Ted & Robin should have ended in season 8, or even season 7. It's so tiring, even if it's just for closure.

And I swear Eternal Flame is like the best soundtrack ever. It suits and heightens any emotional scenes I have ever seen with it playing (and that's quite a lot).

I love the extra at the end where Ted asked about the first night they dated. It is such a nice throwback, really shows how the writers cater to their show to such minor details.

I think that was to show that the playbook wasn't destroyed - and maybe set-up for the spin off.

Its starting yo hit me that himym is about to end and even the smallest scenes of nostalgia are making me cry! i feel so overwhelmed.. I just wanna soak up everything. This was the first american tv show i started watching(with friends) and after all these years its officially gonna become history.

There's an episode centered around her first meet with Barney, they ran into each other a few times and had a strong exchange on a public bench at night that changed the course of Barney's fate with Robin for the better.

The only one she hasn't met is Robin.

This was a great episode. The last few mins really made me realize how the show is going to end this month.

I'm kinda confused about what The Mother said to Ted at the end of his story I'm thinking that she kinda caught herself and remembers that Robin's mother isn't going to stay to the end of the wedding maybe? But then again, The Mother is in Room #6 which she got because Robin's mother never checked in.

Yeah, I seriously hope this doesn't mean that the Mother is dying/dead.

I'm not against a sad ending - this is a show that has proven time and time again that knows how to deal with poignant situations. But in my opinion, this is not what this story has been all about, it's not what really represents. For me, it's that after all the struggles and heart-breaks, sooner or later we'll all have that happy ending. And man - after 9 years, finding out that the Mother was dead all long would be such a downer. Plus, it just doesn't fit the tone of Future Ted's narration, so I hope there's a final twist planned.

Though this scene now makes much more sense.
