Wanna know who’s laughing now? NOT ME. This song is amazingawesomegreat pretty decent, which means it is better than at least half of the songs in this rate. Let’s just ignore the annoying intro, Jessie’s faux rapping, the forgettable chorus, and the cringeworthy bridge. Let’s just take all that away and BAM. There’s a diamond beneath all that ****. I’m talkin about that pre-chorus. I have never been more with Jessie than I have for those 30 seconds. In that moment, I’m actually rooting for her. This is one of the three “empowerment” singles that Jessie has released. It’s weird that the best one (for me of course) is the one that’s more snarky/bitchy. I’ve always preferred the “I’m rich and famous, now seethe” attitude over the “You’re all superstars in your own special way!” message. It’s kind of like how I prefer Mean to Firework, BTW, Nobody’s Perfect, Who You Are, ****in Perfect, etc. The former is more interesting while the latter just come off as cheesy/boring to me.
