You can't deny it's musical progression in the sense that she brought up music with a REAL MESSAGE to mainstream. It was different. The statement with bringing music reminiscent of the 80's mainly is that, she was born in the 80's and she was born that way. Even if it's reminiscent of that decade, she took the sound to another level and made it a bit digestible for people on today's landscape. Born This Way is a true statement, and it's pure musical progression.
Honestly - no fanbase in here really has the right to go on this either.
"Criminal" flopped.
"Thinking of You" flopped.
The 4 era singles flopped.
Half of Rihanna's singles have flopped.
Many of Madonna's singles have flopped.
The only person without super-flop singles so far is Kesha.
But no other music by any other artist sounds like Gaga's at the moment does it? It's the same when she brought back dance-pop with "Just Dance" and "Poker Face". They were inspired by the sounds of previous eras, but no one was doing it at the time. Therefore, she has progressed. She's placing the influence of older sounds into a modern context and formulating the two.
It should be warn-able offense because you are sick of hearing that ****?
How do you know I wasn't here for her previous eras?
Because 1/3 of damn posts and threads about Gaga are about "missing the fame" era. Other over-done posts have become ban-able; my opinion is that this should follow suit.
If you are going to release unique music, please make it unique. Not by rehashing music released 30-40 years ago to sound different than your signature sound.
It's Gaga's fault for the dance craze, and now that dance is the craze, she's making stadium rock/pop that could've been released 30 years ago and sounded generic.
I doubt the public would hurt that much if Gaga went back to being mildly generic; FameGa wasn't even too generic at all. It's considered generic after she started the craze and many followed.
The public would accept her back into their arms if she released a club-banger, not a club song that doesn't have the lyrics of a club banger.
She was seen as crazy and different with her outfits which is what so many people found interesting and liked about her at first but this era she just took it to another level and all the weird **** she does has really has gotten 'old' and become so try hard.
Gaga has always been try hard. None of the comments about her change. The biggest change about Gaga were the negative Madonna comparisons. They used to be positive ones such as 'Your ambition is similar to Madonna's,' now it is 'Your career is copying Madonna's.' Other than that, Gaga has always been viewed as an attention-seeking-try-hard-hermie with 15 seconds of fame. That has yet to change. People are trying so hard to act as though she was above negativity during TF era because they loved it, yet many of you (even Nicole) had plenty to say during that era.

Like we didn't just endure Fall 2010 - aka the "Feel Better About Yourself" season where we had songs with real messages like "****in Perfect"....."real" messages have ALWAYS been in the mainstream.
I'm sure half of the people bought the album twice. With this album, GaGa alienated the general public. The only supporters she has left is her gay fans which will support her no matter what.
Tnx Interscope for removing this terrible song from radio...
Now if someone could ban all her future singles also.......
Let me clarify, once and for all, that Interscope hasn't removed MTN from radio because, well, you CAN'T remove a song from radio. MTNN has only been ''suposedly'' quit the support of the label on Rythmic, which is nothing because the song has already picked up on power rotation by many stations. The meltdowns here are so basic and stupid...

I'm pretty show "Low", "Disturbia" and "Womanizer" came before "Just Dance". She brought nothing back, she just popularized the pop-movement.

And these are the people claiming they know how to manage not just anyone's career, but Lady Gaga's. Like get a life
