I'm not trying to say she debut as a solo artist in 1997 but that was the year she began her career.

For sure, but we're comparing solo act in this thread

Actually it does. Because whether or not she was in a group does not matter, its the fact that she was already a relevant megastar debuting within the same era as them, regardless of whether or not she was in a "group". Her going solo in 2003 does not negate the fact that she was already a household name from the same era in which they debuted. T H I N K. its not just about them being solo acts its about them existing in popular culture and outlasting.

There's no difference. Beyoncé debuted in 1997.
Just like Diana Ross debuted in 1961 and Michael Jackson in 1969.

The group Destiny's Child was the megastar, which Beyoncé was a part of. I never said she was not a household name when she debuted
It's really the same situation as Zayn or Niall really. One Direction was One Direction's success, not Zayn or Niall's own. Beyoncé was the frontrunner of the group sure, but it was a group and I'm not sure why everybody's so happy to discredit Michelle and Kelly. Especially since the group experienced much greater success when Michelle joined.

But in the OP I didn't state solo careers only. I'm not arguing with you anyway I see what your trying to say and I agree Beyoncé as THE solo artists did not debut till 03 but her career began in 1997.

im not even hive. but you're delusional if you think anyone but beyonce actually mattered. thats just the truth. you're trying to argue for this technicality because including beyonce in this discussion means that everyone else falls by the wayside.

They did mattered though. Beyoncé was the frontrunner, but when DC consisted of Bey, Michelle, and Kelly they found the chemistry that made the group so appealing. It's untrue to say none of the other members mattered, if not DC would've stayed the same.

Beyonces solo career took off without a hitch and the other 2 girls have floundered ever since.

Please don't say that like she somehow was the saving grace of the group. That's just embarrassing. Whether Michelle or any other random chick would have joined the group the groups success would not have changed & statistically their second album "The Writings On The Wall" was their most successful album, that was before Michelle even joined the group.

That's not what I'm saying. I'm just saying the group got larger success when the chemistry was found among its members, the group changing members in itself proves other members mattered. Survivor is DC's best era overall.

The groups chemistry clicked more yes i'll give you that but you can't say the group experienced more success because of Michelle, Survivor became the success it was due to it's singles, due to it being a follow up to their smash second album and due to the group being more of an established act.

Not because of Michelle, but because of the chemistry found when DC was Bey-Kelly-Michelle. Having a smash album doesn't mean your next one will be as well received, Survivor sold more singles, 10M albums as opposed to 12M for their second, and if we're being honest it's the Survivor era that comes to mind when we think of DC, it's their best era tbh.

Britney is still a big name despite her most recent commercial flops and the lack of effort on her part tho.

But the Survivor singles sold the exact same as TWOTW singles. Both sold around 5.6m singles. But the Writings On The Wall sold more albums so technically it's their most successful era, all Survivor had was better peaks.

Bey debuted in 97, her checks started to come in as writer, singer and performer.
Are the girls still trying to act delayed in 2016.
