How do you guys think his album will do? Will it end up like albums from Taio Cruz, Jason DeRulo, etc... or will it at least have decent success?
no, i think he might go platinum if he snatch another top 5 single. the album might sell gradually till it hitz platinum. this dude is different, and the album is FRESH. gosh, im in love with the 5 new songs
I think he will have decent success with this, at least more than Jason Derulo, Taio Cruz, etc. because he stands out from the crowd with the music he makes, he's not just another generic electro pop album. I could even see the album appealing to a lot of the adult crowd, along with the teenage crowd. Also, he has been building a lot of momentum through his features on Billionaire, NOY and now of course his own number 1 hit, so that people associate him with more than one song.
1. Grenade: AMAZING! The rawness and rasp of his voice really works with this song 10/10
2. Just the Way You Are: When I first hard this song I wasn't crazy about it but its really grown on me. Its not as generic as I thought it was 8/10
3. Our First Time: VERY grown & sexy ala Robin Thicke. His falsetto really shines & I love the harmonies. 9/10
4. Runaway Love: The only song I don't really like. Idk, it sounds like a soundtrack song 6/10
5. The Lazy Song: Really fun, free-spirited, feel good, sing-a-long song. 8/10
6. Marry You: Kind of a follow-up to JTWYA, awesome chorus & production 9/10
7. Talking to the Moon: AMAZING! My favorite song from his EP. I don't like the minor edits they made to the album version though, a bit too overproduced & it doesn't hit as hard 9.9/10
8. Liquor Store Blues: The chorus is spectacular & I love Damien Marley's verse even though I can barely make out what he's saying (I'm on a mission to memorize it though) 9/10
9. Count on Me: Great melody & lyrics. A great friendship song which you don't see too much of these days. 9/10
10. The Other Side: Great way to close the album. Cee-Lo and B.o.B blend in with the song harmoniously 9.5/10
Overall the album is one of the best debuts I've heard in a long time.

Our First Time and Liquor Store Blues can get AC/Urban AC releases and do really well.
