the indie universe dislikes halsey. they find her generic and uninspired alternative. (no shade, just tea) it's really only her loyal fanbase keeping her alive. she said she did Badlands as a hipster attempt but it sounded familiar and she said she'll do a pop album soon. so if that's true, she'll probably try to appeal mainstream since she's under capitol.

i think melanie wont ditch the baby theme.. like she said the 2nd album is in the universe of cry baby. i love melanie but she's digging herself a hole which is disappointing and a mess. marina will remain having decent success. charli will still be loved by the indie universe.

finally, halsey will never get on lana's level of being an iconic indie legend even when she tried by ripping off National Anthem

First of all, this album needs to be a hit. How much has it sold in pure sales worldwide? Capitol has really pushed her and yet it hasn't done much. It only got certified in the US based on streams.

here are some reasons for the delusionals anyway:
1. her debut did amazingly. she outsold lana AND lorde.
2. her fanbase is hella loyal.
3. she is talented asf.
4. she is good live so she can attract people through not only her lyrics but her live performances.

New Americana was all over Beats One and her album was on the main apple.com front page for a long time.



I'm not sure what sort of arrangement she had with Apple - perhaps they gave her a special deal, but I don't see it happening again.

Halsey I hope falls off the face of the earth. Fakest person in the biz (even more than Britney) but The Feeling is an absolute BOP so I kinda forgive her for that.
