The first line of your post is a damn joke.

"Urban" is not a genre of music. There's different types of Hip-Hop, different types of R&B, Soul, Dance, Funk, etc. and Bey has done it ALL since the very beginning of her career.

I do agree with the bolded though. I love Bey doing what she wants to do but at this point in her career she needs to come harder.

honestly, BEYOND WORDS. I have always respected Beyonce to the fullest and always believed she's THE most important person in Music. But after this, i'm officially a stan.

This is a very BOLD move. It's ground breaking, it's relevant, it goes beyond the music, it speaks to an entire generation, it will DEFINITELY have HUGE impact on the world and how people see and perceive things.
Beyonce just elevated her status to another stratosphere.
She doesn't give a **** about charts. She doesn't give a **** about sales, if radio is going to play this.
She's being AUTHENTIC and REAL and it's so amazing to see this progression. She's really opening up to the world, and she is showing who she really is, not who people want to see as, or the 'caricature' that she has created for her music.

I feel like this is Beyonce's most important event in her entire career. This move right now just sealed her LEGEND status.

Yes. The song knocks. Love the video and the Messy Mya and New Orleans homage. Very good symbolism of Katrina and police brutality tucked in there as well. The song is much better than Flawless and 7-11 imo. That bass, synth, and horns ≥≥
