What about the co-signing posts?
Because I feel like some are warned and some aren't even tho they're basically the same. ![rip](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRLSmilies/rip_zpsec10ede9.gif)

Can we report mods who troll? Can they get warned, too?

You can, but nothing will happen!
But if you feel quite strongly about it, you can send in a help request - and the request will stay open until all moderators have a chance to look at it.

Well, we have warned posters like Josh for general idiocy (in his case, 30 threads a day!), and we will look into what you suggest. For example, would SelenaTheWinner ever post again if a) no shirtless men were photographed from here on out and b) the Demi/Selena rivalry ended? I doubt it!

Oh yes, absolutely. I can already think of a couple of members who are keen on posting pointless, unnecessary (and sometimes gross) threads with no real value, like you very well said. They, most often than not, are and can be warned.
And the abundance of shirtless guy threads is definitely something that has been brought to our attention and it's been discussed.
|
Thanks for the responses. Before I'm accused of sucking to fun out of things or whatever, I think it's becoming increasingly too much as of late. Especially from the SelenaTheWinner types who just post those topics just for the sake of it. (And not to mention BUMPING the thread with more useless pics just to keep the thread going. ![Mazen](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/19971843.gif) ) With the Shawn Mendes', Charlie Puth's and all those others being posted all the time, it's just begging for the typical vulgar responses.
I don't mind the threads where a guy is on the beach, out and about like Mark Wahlberg for example but the other nonsense like an IG post or whatever has to cease.

If we feel like a moderator isn't doing their job -- lets send a help request....to a moderator ![skull](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRL_Smilies_All/faces/skull_zpsksni5fmm.gif)

OT: Why are wall posts not moderated in the same way as the general forum? In other words, is there much point in reporting wall posts?
|
First, I think it's because we can't directly warn wall posts, so it's more difficult to pay attention to what's going on behind the main forum. Second, a thread is about a topic, a subject, so we warn everything that disrupts that. A wall post or conversation is often something more personal, between two members. It doesn't disrupt the flow of the forum, so that is actually the main reason why I believe we don't usually moderate wall posts, expect for the graphic/explicit/offensive stuff. Other than that, we always recommend putting the members you don't like on your ignore list.

I understand that stand your ground is the land of the free, but when there are talks/trollings about terrorist attacks and killing people, don't you think that's crossing the line and should be warnable? I reported someone who was comparing an album to the bombing in Paris. Not only is that disrespectful but that's too far and quite distributing. Why didn't that get warned?

so basically mods can troll and get a free pass but if members do so we are plugged with over 9000 warning points ?

Usually those mods are removed - look at what happened to 'poor' Randy/Vato.
And another moderator we are not at liberty to speak about at this present moment.

Do posts HAVE to be reported to be given WPs? Cause in my thread where you executed everyone http://atrl.net/forums/showthread.php?t=929477 no posts were reported, but a similar thing happened to me with other members posting the same thing but I was the only one who got warned cause I got reported. When I asked a mod he said because I'm the only one who got reported, but I'm like you can SEE everyone else its not fair but he was not having it.

It's the subjectivity thing. In this case, BlueTimberwolf mentioned it in HQ (which is not supposed to happen - I warned him), and I took a look. The whole "let's derail a thread because ... why not?" thing is something many of my peers paid a blind eye to, but one I have long found entirely disrespectful - that's why I took action.
Other times, when only >five people are doing things, it can actually be harder for a moderator to search a thread to warn all five - thereby we rely on reporters to cite the most flagrant. Of course, hopefully once the moderator is in the thread (and provided he/she doesn't get 552'ed, which happens FAR more often than you all think it does), he/she will see the other offending posts.
Mostly when it doesn't happen, we have been knocked offline/the server was too slow to get anything done.

This is probably, for me, the toughest one. I think what we all agree on is that - if you laugh at a flamebait post, you are basically co-signing what that member said. If you leave the comment with a "." or post something like "yas drag ha", that is obviously repeating what the other member said as well, so you'd get warned too.
Now warning a reaction to a warned post like "omg" or " ![rip](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRLSmilies/rip_zpsec10ede9.gif) " is much more tricky.
EDIT: Crap, I'm now getting 522'd too. ![rip](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRLSmilies/rip_zpsec10ede9.gif)

They don't have to be reported, it's just an easier way for us to see what's going on around here. We don't/can't have eyes on the entire forum, so that's why the reporting system exists. But if we enter a thread and see someone breaking the rules, we can warn 'em right away.

Actually, a help request is sent to all moderators simultaneously as a thread in our section. We're not an evil clique who'll shelter abuse; that's what has gotten some moderators fired in the past.
Alternatively, you can simply say in the request that you want admin attention, and we forward it to them without deliberation.

Thank you for this. I've been getting "get a spelling book" comments for a couple of days now and that kind of upsets tbh.
