Explain why it's okay to appropriate Greek (or any European) culture and not other cultures then? Do we allow it to balance out white privilege or something?

All you're showing is a fundamental misunderstanding about "cultural appropriation."
Appropriation is generally considered a problem when there's a power dynamic at play. Ex. black girls are called "ratchet" "ghetto" "trashy" or whatever for twerking, but when Miley does it, it's suddenly the fun new dance for white people. Native Americans have been systematically torn down for centuries in the US as "primitive" people, but their clothes become cute Halloween costumes. The same is true for other types of appropriation. No one cares if a niche tumblr artist uses source images from a Vogue photoshoot, but if Vogue started printing images they stole from tumblr without credit, it would be a problem since they're such a big, powerful publication.
As far as I know, Americans have never systematically enslaved and/or murdered the Greeks, and there isn't any widespread discrimination against the Greeks as a people.
It might be silly to call it "Greek life" (I have no idea how this originated tbh), but I don't see how it would hurt anyone.

How is it embarrassing? You had a lot to say in the other thread. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on this.

ATRLs obsession with SJWs.
If y'all don't like them, why do you all speak about them so much?
It's not everyday

It's not everyday talk about SJWs
I only hate the SJWs who are more interested in point scoring than actual social justice. Like...

SJWs are the pits. Just bratty kids on social media that do absolutely nothing but moan about the most trivial ****. Actual social activists that care for real issues and stand up for them >>>

But you are over generalizing it. I will bring up the Leona thread as example. Has Leona ever made any negative remarks on Native Americans? Has she ever called them 'primitive'? Why should she wearing a NA head piece be considered offending?
Just because SOME people do some things, doesn't mean the entire world follows.

It's sad that people would do anything to feel loved and accepted by society, even if it was simply downgrading an entire positive movement based on the actions of a few people.

EXACTLY. I'm ALL about social justice. All humans are equals. But some people are just being ridiculous, claiming the tiniest and most harmless things to be offensive.

No you SJWs just need to get out and live your live. Stop thinking you're making world better place cause you aren't. It's ciontrary. You're actually ruining everything real social justice activists fought for years and making it all look like a joke with your nonsense

If you open up a damn history book instead of opening this obvious flamebait thread you would know. If Natives do not want non-natives to wear the Native American headpiece as in their culture it is considered sacred, not 'dress up' (Leona Lewis' own words, mind you), then the least we could do -- after everything they have been through -- is to respect that.
It isn't no damn 'SJW', it's somebody's culture. They get to decide, not us.

GREAT. You said it, and just because some radical leftists think a certain way, doesn't mean that all people who fight for social justice act that way. (I know you already know that and you're just trolling, but I just thought I'd drag you all left and right again like I did in that other thread you created)

The word SJW needs to be left behind in 2015.

As i said in my previous post, i'm ALL about social justice. But some people are taking it WAY too far. I'm still trying to understand how these things work because it's SO damn confusing.
One minute, a NA head piece worn by Leona is offending, but the entire Greek culture being used for the US college life(frat parties, alcohol e.t.c) is okay.

Same goes for the faux activists that only care about these issues so they can earn brownie points on tumblr.

I never said she did. But she's not free from how society at large views Native Americans. The image of the "primitive" in a head piece is widespread, even though such clothing actually has meaning to them that people could at least try to respect.
If half as many people cared about making amends (for how we've treated Native Americans over the years) as they do about defending their "right" to wear clothing imitating Native Americans, that would be lovely.

You're not trying to understand, you don't want to understand. You just want to stir up a petty conversation and think you're edgy. It literally does not matter what someone will tell you in this thread to answer your question, you will not listen and you have no intention unless it's what you want to hear
