ShibuyaK is my fave there. I feel like it's poppier than her usual stuff so maybe that's why it caught my attention more instantly, and why most of her hipster fans don't like it as much, but honestly who gives a damn!
And the most hated 4 Walls track is probably Glitter, lol, and unfairly so. Cash Me Out is not bad at all, though.
Remember FEMM? That group that played their mannequin act so well that I still doubt whether they are real human beings, but on top of that it's the duo that is famous for serving certified ANTHEMS and BOPS. I don't know what happened, but their new song is a tragic mess that's lacking on many levels. Of course I want them to evolve and be experimental, but PoW! doesn't sound like a good effort. So if you do remember them and the slayage they served, let that mental image stay with you for the time being.
4. AMBER - MOW THAT GRASS (feat. I's singer)
It's almost hard to believe that this mess was released in the same year as 4 Testaments and it is such an obvious choice that I didn't even want to include it, but there are so many blasphemous things about STB if think about it that I didn't have a choice. It's cute alright and Taeyeon's feature isn't annoying, and the rest of the EP is passable, and I can even try to defend the song itself, but it will remain a big blot on f(x)-related legacy.
3. TWICE - OOH-AHH
To be honest, this has nothing to do with the fact that some TWICE fans were being messy during 4W's release. In fact, I liked the concepts and the potential members and was ready to stan once their debut single dropped, but OOH-AHH or whatever it is called (they don't inspire me to use my basic Korean skills at all) was a disappointment, though the MV is well done and visually they are what I have wished for. I'm not giving up on them completely after all that.
2. Namie Amuro - B Who I Want 2 B feat. HATSUNE MIKU
I love Namie. I can tolerate vocaloids, especially if they are used in some artsy-fartsy projects like Kagerou and stuff. I admit that I didn't have any particular expections (though of _genic as a whole I expected a lot). The result turned out to be tragic, unfortunately. I don't care about it being experimental, revolutionary (listen to Revolution by Crystal Key), I simply dislike it and I don't think I've finished to it in full more that once. On the bright side, the animesque magazine shoot was top-notch, so there is at least something positive about it. The next entry, however, has no redeeming qualities.
1. SNSD - FUNERAL
I have no words. I think I had a bigger meltdown after listening to this abomination than the one I was having during Jawgate. Like, what is THIS? Was Jessica sitting days and nights cursing ~OH8~ and the entire SM to make them release THIS as a SINGLE? Longevity Heart on the whole is tragic, but FUNERAL is on another level. And to think that the owner of one forum called it "the best song ever" right in front of me... Delete this immediately regardless of your physique, be you fat, thin etc.
Your commentary is hilarious though nn. I thought Party was OK but it was definitely the weakest of their singles this year and sounded very... reductive? I was also so disappointed with Amber's solo single adlkfj, I was ROOTING for her.
