Discussion: Fifth Harmony and Little Mix - what's so different?

I think it mostly just comes down to chemistry, really. Little Mix seems to have a pretty healthy and (at least seemingly) sincere friendship dynamic whereas Fifth Harmony's dynamic is, ironically, pretty discordant.
I do think at least some of that has to do with the latter's label's insistence on having a lead member (Camila, as it would seem), creating animosity and competition among the rest, whereas Syco leaves the Little Mix girls on pretty equal footing.

Little Mix suck and no one knows their individual names outside of the UK. Fifth Harmony have more star power together and separately than they can even imagine.

To be honest, a big part of it might be that the Little Mix girls were older than the 5H girls when they were put together. LM were more mature at the time that they were formed, so they were probably able to see very early on that they didn't need to be an individual superstar to have a successful music career. Conversely, when 5H was formed, they were all aged 15-16 except for Ally. Girls that age still have very superstar-esque dreams, and even though they were definitely able to overcome that for a large part of their career (the people claiming they were never super close and friendly with each other have no idea what they're talking about), I think those initial "big dreams" that they brought into the group never fully went away and lingered under the surface.

It's just sad that all this is happening to 5H. I still hope it works out. They're the biggest girl group to have happened in the US in a long time, and they still have the potential to be so much more together. Because honestly, Camila would not have happened if not for 5H.

it should be mentioned that the OLDEST member of 5H (Ally) is in the same age as the YOUNGEST members of LM (Perrie & Jade).
LM has the maturity that 5H don't have just yet. That's why they work better with much less drama.
That's why only Ally who is ****ing 22 doesn't go on shady tweet spare (eventhough she's probably too sweet to do that)

People are the UK are generally less eager to be the 'one star' of the group & work better together
Also, LM learned how to work as a team, share solos and actually, you know, harmonise, instead of trying to be four solo artists

!!!! I'm annoyed w/ Camila and what she's choosing to do right now but I don't truly have anything against her. People assume the fanbase is hating on her but that's not true. They critique and call out any member at any given time. If Normani did this, she'd get hated on too. I hope this is a one time thing and they can at least release a stellar sophomore album and at least try to establish themselves entirely before they run off doing solo music.

5H should look at DC before they think of being soloists. Get your group shiz together before you think about going on your own. B, Kelly and Michelle are doing okay even until now.
