Airplanes is still increasing?! That's astounding that it is about to increase in its second full week of sales.

I love Hurt too but that Back to Basics era didn't go great in the UK. Chrtistina's popularity here tends to be exaggerated, she was popular during the Stripped era butshe was never all the popular before it, and she hasn't been after it She takes too long between Albums, giving people time to forget about her, which they have for the most part.

**** labels, sometimes. I can't believe they are far more concerned with chart peaks over total sales. Well, it does seem to make her catalogue's surface a lot better but still it won't polish her record in the UK. The only thing that can save this song to a humongous demands of downloads in the UK is a stint at X Factor or Got Talent, 'coz in all honesty, they're not gonna get it with a lone video. Especially since UK is a quite stabilizing it's download sales for a while now.
That baffles me too. Back To Basic is a special example of what usually UK listeners would buy. Considering she came from a very successful album, she could've done and sold albums easily. A lot of acts have dominated UK once again after a long absence so I don't think that kind of "long term non-existence" pressure applies to UK majorly. :-/

I guess a good peak sounds better in so mnay ways. Radio will probably take more notice of it if it were to peak at number 1 for example, as is generally the case. The understanding of chart peaks is universal, but if you were to say that Christina sold 70,000 first week in the UK then someone might respond 'is that good?' (which it is!) but people have no idea what the average sales are on a weekly basis... It's confined to a select minority.
BTB did well enough, it was a moderate hit. ANOM almost went to number 1, I think it was close in the end. She didn't really do any promotion, I don't remember her doing anything anyway. I guess the main fault with it was that it was a total change from her previous record, and her fans may have not liked that. She didn't really expand her market and appeal to new listeners as she should have, and that's why it was not as successful as its predecessor. The sales were still respectable though.

I agree but don't you think this is getting a bit out of control? It should be that way when the song is serviced to the radio prior an iTunes add. The case of the table is that the single was released to iTunes, simultaneously while radio is warming the reception up. Now that it's deleted, to the least extent, DJs may have an idea as to why it was made and they can be reluctant. The idea of pulling out the song is sending wrong messages. If this was indeed for the betterment of single's performance, they should have known better and calculated the consequences of a mishandled decision.
I thought otherwise, actually. Her ever changing persona is somewhat can be linked to the broadening of her fanbase. The results may not be leaning to their favor but I think she did a great job at donning her throwback impression. She gained a lot critical praises and for the first time, she was able to get herself out of the general clout of the girls doing pop.

So what annoys you the most is not that it won't be released for a few weeks, but that it was released and they decided to remove it for the sake of a good chart peak? Pulling songs from iTunes in the UK is slightly more common than in the US. I don't think it would have been pulled had NMT moved up at a faster pace, but I guess they thought it would be better to end things rather than have the song hoovering down near the #100 position as would likely be the case as of now. Radio has yet to pick up the song, so the video will be highly important as is always the case in the UK.
The results are not leaning in her favour. I hated the whole era, it was too false and contrived for me. It was change for the sake of change. I was a massive Xtina stan up until that point, but for me it was one disappointment too far. Regardless, Bioinic is going to be an incredibly important Album for Christina. If it fails then she could lose her status as a major artist, certainly as a relevant one.

It's annoying for a lot of reasons. Maybe because of the underwhelming performance it showed after being available for purchase at iTunes. It's cases like that hints a very bad and lasting impression. Some of the songs that were removed on iTunes in the UK after hours of release doesn't have a bad reception, but due to the discerning management, song is still pulled back for better chances later. With her case, that's not it. And I think it is sending false situations to the whole consumers and especially the haters. It can effect the totality of the song's performance in the end and most of the times, holding back are far more worse remedies for the ailing project. And that's what's pissing me off. I do believe in chart improvements after an amendment is made, like a music video, which makes the advancements more palpable and pleasing. Then, a chain reaction would ensue and everyone would eventually engage themselves on this line. Thus, rendering a good sequence.
It was contrived but it was favorable to the critics. I don't think she was getting high praises up to that point. Likewise, it was a disappointment for a casual fan.
Bionic may not take her to a whole new pedestal but I can feel it's going to be my favorite Xtina album. Regardless of the status, I think she has pretty much established herself as a major star.

" Alejandro" has only fallen two spots due to the ACM's. If it weren't for Miranda Lambert and Lady Antebellum's performances, she'd probably still be #20.

I wish Gaga would have never released "Telephone" its so flat and boring, not to mention generic and flat. It never made much of an impact on iTunes and we all know why
