Most people watch streams. I believe the VMAS live TV ratings were taken from Nielsen boxes, an outdated and sometimes inaccurate way for ratings. Watching it on MTV.com and other platforms like DVR give it ratings too. MTV's "Scream" was in cancellation territory with the last few episodes but it was doing so amazing on streams and DVR that it got renewed.\
The Nielsen system will become less viewed every year as streaming becomes more popular every second.
and people will stay trying to discredit it
