Ok, so taio has an udience of 30 millions.
TAIO CRUZ - Break Your Heart f/Ludacris: 30.527 (+ 1.092)
and rihanna is at 80 millions and gaining 2 millions more a day.
So, Break your heart has to sell at least 55.000 more copies than rude boy to pass it.
I dont think it will sell that much...

The audience DOESNT only take into account the POP radios. And Rode boy is already top 10 on R&B radios for example.
Anyway, spins do not always go along with airplay.
Rude boy has the 10th biggest audience in pop radios, and its still #15 on spins

Why is Alejandro already getting play?? The singles from this era have been kind of sloppy. Bad Romance is the only single so far to do amazing. Telephone was getting played way too early hence it not having it's surge that she usually has.

You're forgetting "Need You Now." It's airplay and digital sales are huge. I think it's going #1 on the Hot 100 this week. Anyway, this is Mediabase, not the Hot 100 thread. So, I won't get into that right now.

It depends on the amount of spins it's getting from certain stations and what times the stations are playing the songs. "Rude Boy" is getting played more than "Whataya Want From Me" and "Breakeven" on higher rated stations. I know for a fact Z100 has "Rude Boy" on power rotation, so it's AI is huge, since Z100 can reach up to 6 million listeners per week. Also, if "Rude Boy" is played at 5:00pm, it's going to get a lot of listeners, as many people are listening to the radio at that point of the day. If it were played at 3:00am, then it's not going to get a lot since most people will be sleeping.

How do they exactly measure Audience (the EXACT number)?
And, does the AI count for Billboard stops at Tuesday?

Correct. Billboard uses BDS, which has a panel similar to Mediabase, but Mediabase's panel is a little bit larger. Hence why Mediabase's pop spin record is "TiK ToK" with about 12,500 spins, and BDS's is "TiK ToK" with only 11,500 spins. We are unfortunately unable to see BDS's data. Every once in a while we can see a very small portion of it, but, unlike Mediabase, we aren't able to see daily updates. That's why Mediabase is more popular on music websites than BDS is.

It's actually an estimate. Arbitron is a corporation that acts like the U.S. Census and asks people what stations they normally listen to and at what times. Then, they rank stations in a specific area by the number of people who listen to it. So, for example, KIIS in Los Angeles is the top station in Los Angeles because it has more listeners than any other station. Then, based on population and dayparts, they come up with an estimate for audience impressions. The estimates are really good. They may only be a few thousand off.
Billboard tracks audience impressions for Wednesday to Tuesday. So, the update we get this Thursday will be the first AI tracking for next week. That following Wednesday morning when we wake up will be official total Billboard will use. (I hope that made sense. ![laugh](images/smilies/images/smilies/laugh.gif) )

It shouldn't be. Less than 50 stations separate the panels.

Lets be honest, YOU know much more than I do.
Who do you think will be #1 next week??
Am I too wrong to think this:
#1 Rude boy -> 87 points from airplay + 160-170 points from downloads = 247-257
#2 Need you now -> 117 points from airplay + 130-140 points from downloads = 247-257
#3 Nothing on you -> 82 points from airplay + 160-170 points from downloads = 242-252
#4 Break your heart -> 32 points from airplay + 200 points from downloads = 232
#5 Bedrock -> 104 points from airplay + 115 points from downloads = 219
What do you think?

^That looks about right. I think Need You Now will have the larger streaming, which could put it at #1. But it'll be close. I think Nothing on You won't get over 160k. 140-150 seems more likely. Otherwise, yeah, that looks pretty good.
