You guys forget that See You Again was HUGE on streaming and sales for the first 5, 6 weeks. Radio is just late.
I hate the song but you can't deny that it deserves #1
Sounds fair I'd still go
For 50 on sales even tho they are declining cuz people are actually spending their coins. Idk if YouTube views are accurate tho some countries don't count them.
Radio has too much power. Airplay is obviously crucial for giving songs exposure and that in itself controls sales and streaming. It already makes or breaks a song as it is. For it then to count as a component of the Hot 100 formula and put some songs at a further disadvantage, I think, is too much.
Yes, I agree. In no other big market does radio count. It's pointless. I don't know why radio deals and payola in general should be rewarded with high chart positions
Tbh they needs to add the leachers/seeders count on tor.rent, and lower radio's impact. That way we'll get the truest sense of the most in demand records of today
Remember when the hot 100 was basically the AirPlay hot 100 in the early 2000s. The thought of all
Those pop songs getting tragic peaks due to radio being the main factor it's sad. So many urban songs wouldn't have been #1s.
This is horrible. Why should you reward record labels that are pushing some acts on radio and put it on the same level as actual interest of the public that is best shown in sales and streams?
Payola plays too much of a factor at radio for it to have such a huge influence in the formula. If radio was actually fair in what it plays then its influence would be justified. So lower or remove it.
Radio can stay but just lower it's importance. Nobody listens to the radio for an extended period of time nowadays unless your power goes out on all your devices.
