Glad you all like the songs! And Big Dreams, I only had Beautiful on my playlist for like a month, but I listened to it again recently and it just hit me as to how great the song is! Lyrically and musically!

MusicIsGoodForYou's Best of 2009 Thread! Singles 20-14!!
Thanks for the positive feedback everyone! Hope you all like #'s 20-14 as much as the last set!
Top 30 Singles of 2009:
Recap:
30. John Mayer - Who Says
29. Ryan Star - Right Now
28. Kelly Clarkson - My Life Would Suck Without You
27. David Cook - Come Back to Me
26. Flo Rida - Be On You (feat. Ne-Yo)
25. The All-American Rejects - Gives You Hell
24. Kanye West - Heartless
23. Eminem - Beautiful
22. Drake - Successful (feat. Trey Songz & Lil Wayne)
21. Green Day - 21 Guns
20. Mariah Carey - Obsessed/Obsessed (Remix) [feat. Gucci Mane]
Surprisingly, I don't think I've ever liked a Mariah single this much! With Obsessed, she put out a fun club banger to help dust off people that lie about being with her. And I think this was the first time that I've ever liked a song with Gucci as a guest! Even though he's a pretty bad rapper IMO, I think that he added some of his la flare to Obsessed.
19. Boys Like Girls - Love Drunk
For Love Drunk, Boys Like Girls were able to fulfill a hard task. They took the power-pop and pop-rock elements of songs like The Great Escape and Hero/Heroine, and sharpened their music with stronger hooks and melodies. And I love how Boys Like Girls use alcohol metaphorically in this song!
18. The Fray - You Found Me
I never knew that The Fray made such serious music before looking at the lyrics for You Found Me. For those that don't know, the song started as hate towards G-d, and it includes questions asking G-d why weren't you there and why did you have to wait. You Found Me also has great melodies, and overall shows a much more mature side of The Fray as opposed to the singles from their first album.
17. Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling
For me, I Gotta Feeling is a love/hate song. When I first heard it, I thought that it was was a spectacular party jam, and predicted that it would be everywhere in Summer 2009. Well, turns out I was right, and thus I eventually became sick of the song. However, I cannot deny the awesomeness that BEP had made w/this song. It's a nice party banger about living it up! And David Guetta provides great production on this track!
16. Jay-Z - Run This Town (feat. Rihanna & Kanye West)
Three words: All black everything. On Run This Town, Jay does a good job w/his verses, and Rihanna's hook is pretty catchy too. However, the highlight of the song has to be the appearance of the arrogant Mr. West. His verse undeniably murders Jay's, I mean, how could you deny this?:
"She got a ass that'll swallow up a g-string
And up top, unh...
Two bee stings
And I'm beasting
Off the riesling
And my ni66a just made it out the precinct"
15. Linkin Park - New Divide
It's very nice to hear some new music from Linkin Park. New Divide is just as rocking and as spacey as Linkin Park's non-rap past singles, like What I've Done and Somewhere I Belong. In addition, the music video for New Divide has pretty awesome effects, and Transformers 2 is an awesome film, especially if you used to watch Transformers as kid like I used to. Overall, Linkn Park has made a great ode to the awesome Transformers series.
14. Drake - Forever (feat. Kanye West, Lil Wayne, & Eminem)
Everything about Forever is great. Boi-1da's beat is solid, Drake's hook is melodically fine, and the song's verses are all superior in their own way. Drake's has bodaciousness, Kanye's has swagger, Weezy's has charisma, and Em's has awesome rhymes! When I first heard Forever I was a little disappointed of the verses, but over time I've realized the superiority shown with Forever.
There you have it! I'm now more than halfway through my singles countdown. And tomorrow I'll crack the Top 10! Stay tuned!
