30. Beyonce - Halo
Beyond the Kelly Clarkson and Ryan Tedder drama, lies a great song. I'll admit I prefer Kelly in general, but I definitely prefer "Halo" as far as the rival-songs go. It's clearly the best song to come from the "I Am..." era. Great lyrics, great vocals, great beat (
) I even loved the hazy, dream-like video. Everything worked for this ballad.
29. Ciara - Love Sex Magic (Featuring Justin Timberlake)
Though it didn't do much to save her 3rd album, Ciara remained relevant for at least 2 weeks with this song. The best thing about it was definitely the super sexy video, which features Ciara basically rubbing her entire body all over JT. "This is the part where we fall in love" = my favorite part of the song.
28. Pink - I Don't Believe You
The standout on Pink's "Funhouse" album. I'll admit, I've yet to watch the entire video. However, I'm far more interested in the song anyway. The incredibly emotional vocals, the mood-setting guitars, the tearjerker chorus. Everything works for this song. Had she released it in America with a classic Pink video, this could have easily been in my top 5.
27. Demi Lovato - Here We Go Again
Demi Lovato has what many Disney stars lack, that would be
talent. Unlike the grating Mileys and autotune-dependent Selenas of the world, Miss Lovato has a voice... and DAMN, does she know how to use it. This song ended up being her biggest hit for a reason. It's so damn catchy and displays her powerful voice just perfectly. A great song for the people in this world who can't decided whether to break it off or give it another try. (Even I could relate to that.)
26. The Maine - Into Your Arms
Everyone knows I'm a sucker for a good ballad. Well, this is a great ballad. The Maine proved themselves to be more than just another interchangeable Warped Tour punk band with this song. It had a great video to go along with it. However, nothing beats the song itself. Everything is on point here. "I'll state something
rash, she had the most amazing...
smile" is also just such a great line.
