I wouldn't call it a hate bandwagon, since he was a hate it or love it act to begin with and has been that for a couple of years now.
Does Pitbull add commercial value? Yes, but does he adds something majorly in the songs he is featured on? In most cases, I would say no.
I think it also has to do with the fact that when he blew up, he (re-)used phrases, that made it like he recycled verse after verse, and he basically got so many features, that some people are probably more or less tired of him.
I am open to see what he contributed, since Pitbull proved he can serve at times
