It really doesn't matter what this publication thinks... it only matters what the Grammy voters think. Iggy dominated 2014 not just in RAP music, but music in general. She is just as deserving as Nicki, Missy, or that other one.

What's counterproductive about this:

It’s not that she’s white. The Beastie Boys were white. Eminem is white. Both garnered respect within the rap world partially because they never tried to hide that fact in their music — even when they risked sounding gawky, soulless, or square, they always seemed at peace with their identities. Their appeal hinged upon that sense of acceptance. Iggy is another story.

because the album sucks, stop bringing up race, iggy is like the female pitbull, no bars and the only reason yall like her is because "the hook is good" Single #1 is all about Charli and Single #2 is all about Rita. I think white people wouldnt mind if someone black won a pop or country category. (where usually most of the acts are white)

But when the opposite happens and someone white wins a black dominated category they go mad, the INSECURITY. I just can't. Black people are the ones that actually make racism a big deal. No one even cares about skin color except them anymore. They seem so bitter about it.

Listen, I like her. She's not the devil. But you cannot put her album in competition with MMLP2, like c'mon. It's the Best Rap Album ffs! She can have the hits and the charisma but when it comes to rapping this particular album can't stand a chance.

And the fact that she fakes her accent is true, I don't understand why anyone would question that Is this becoming like Britney with Lip-synch?

If she manages to stay in the spotlight I'm sure she will improve her artistry, but right now - she hasn't got the BEST rap album.
