I had very strange situation today on one of the music forums...Someone ask an question : " I wonder what would you say if he wasn't gay. " ... there is my answer....


The fact that he is gay doesnt have nothing to do, if i likes him and his music.
I support him not because of his sexuality, but for his very good voice. Because he is another musician, whom dream become true. Does not matter that people have to paid to hear that record and his music. I did that to, but been even waiting this whole year, and i had faith that he can deliver, and he did it. I don't care about numbers, i don't care about charts... I'm really glad he made it and he proved, that dreams are there to fulfill them. This album is more special than others. There you have on it sweat, tears, dreams, potential, his heart and love to making music. Thats enough to call him good singer and if someone discredit him for being a gay, for me that racism and disrespectful because is not hard to label someone as gay, but harder is admit that someone is good at what he does. This is my opinion.

Listening now and really enjoying it so far! I've seen him in concert twice so I've heard a bunch of these songs before but the produced versions sound great!

I respect the hell out of the fans/backers for not doing it.

However on the flip side I continue to beat myself up for not backing the kickstarter, and it drives me crazy knowing I could be listening to it right now. Ugh. I'd say I'll just wait for my copy to arrive in a few weeks but in the meantime I know I'll keep looking. So far I like almost everything I've heard off of it, except Time. Wasn't crazy about that one.

Time grew on me. There's a couple songs where he sings in his lower register and it was confusing at first / sounded like he was straining, but I kinda really like it now.

I love Say You Love Me. The lyrics really capture the "in love with a straight friend" thing. I'm so glad gay artists are making music about that universally gay experience, haha. Say You Love Me would have been EVERYTHING for me back in 2010-2011

Haha oh man, 2010 me would have been the same way. And yes, it's so nice to have gay artists speaking about the gay experience. We need more of it.

I like Sam Smith, but that "ambiguous language so as not to exclude straight listeners" stuff gets old. It's amazing to have an out gay man unambiguously singing about loving men.
