Well...for sustained success their is.... around age 30 to 35, consistent single success begins to drop off. Meaning... they might get one hit song per era. Where as when they were in their 20's they could rack up 2, 3, or more #1's per era. It happened to Madonna, Whitney, Janet, Mariah... and will happen to Katy and Rihanna too.

What I meant was, if you didn't start out as a teen artists, it doesn't mean you won't rack up a lot of singles.

Rihanna is More of a hit Machine than Katy.
She has gotten #1s with songs that weren't radio fold material, And gave #1s To other Artist, while Katy Only gets #1s with generic fun songs And none of her collabs smashed, not even The one with her boyfriend.
