Yeah 10k+ doesn't look like a big deal BUT there are weeks this year when that # would have changed who was #1.
Lecrae won by 8k.
Tony Bennett beat #2 by 1k and #3 by 3k.
Sia won by 6k.

For example. That's before taking into account TEA (and how SEA would not have been that high for those weeks), but still.

It'll be interesting when we come to a week when SEA is the factor in a close race that bumps an album up to #1. A lot of fuming and gloating if it's someone big around here.

No, they can't. Taylor is only an exception. Music sales have been declining since around 2001 and the only reason why album sales were so massive before was because of the popularity of MTV in the 80's and it completely inflated sales during that time period until the early 00's.

Napster killed off sales far before streaming ever did. You all need to get with the program and quit complaining about it.

Streaming exposes your music to a lot more people. It's not going to be about sales anymore, but who's listening to your album. That SHOULD be far more important to an artist, but unfortunately it's not because most don't even have anything to say anymore and most are under the impression that you're supposed to make millions and millions off of music because that's the way it was before.

streaming has to be large

J.Cole did 15M but got 10k extra sales...a real difference if the album that got blocked had a huge track because otherwise...the larger artist will win no matter what

SEA is the **** what are you talking about? just because its free doesnt mean it's less important.

I'm happy the new rules will profit to huge urban-based fanbases artists like JCole, Beyoncé, JAYZ... whose fans don't buy the music as much as the rich kids of Taylor or One Direction. I'm so happy.
