75. 5 Seconds Of Summer - She Looks So Perfect
IF YOU CAN’T SWIM – YOU’LL DROWN. HEYYYYYYY EHHHHH EH HEYYYYYYY EHHH EH HEYYYYYYYY
EHHHH EHH <3. And when that epic chanting hook collides with the chorus at the climax. Every other part of the song can kind of leave and the vocals are gross but whatever.
74. Gavin DeGraw - Fire
“Oh-oh ever since the dawn of mankind we all belong to a tribe” is never not in my head. Total earworm, although not as great as almost anything on his criminally underrated album from last year's
Make A Move. He consistently and reliably makes some of the best comfort food pop.
73. Selena Gomez - The Heart Wants What It Wants
Not exactly “Love You Like A Love Song” but it does the trick. Wa-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-ants.
72. The Fray - Our Last Days
Drama-filled and massive-sounding is just what I want from my MOR pop-rock. Wish the vocal wasn’t so whiny. “Love Don’t Die” remains a 10/10 flawless overlooked classic and easily the best thing they’ve ever done, but I count that as last year so this album track will do. Eek @ the way this whole era flopped though.
71. Bleachers - I Wanna Get Better
Omg @ how I used to bop to this. Such a fun road trip jam <3. The chorus is truly a gem, but omg I physically can not listen to it any more and in general the band is kind of tragic.
I'll do 70-65 a bit later. Includes one British girl who kind of broke through in America this year, one British girl who stays trying, a TV actress, and two veteran pop girls who flopped pretty tragically this year.
