This is what I'm saying. An emotional, human performance can still be extremely compelling, and sometimes it's actually more difficult to elevate that to greatness because you have no gimmicks to lean on.
Sorkin should know that, given that he writes talky dramas and Jesse Eisenberg was robbed of his rightful Oscar because of it.
His comment about J. Law and Julia Roberts is so gross, too, as though women's powerhouse roles relying on emotion rather than physical transformation makes them somehow mediocre.
