She released my favorite Pop/Musicque Concréte crossover of 2004 (or was it the only one?) and my favorite Synthpop revival album of 2007! Now she's recreating Italian Pop with a nu-disco lens! Well, it's certainly not my favorite release from her it's definitely a great slice of middle aged woman sophistipop. And since it's an EP it's definitely not overlong or anything. I don't even know if the songs are original or covers to be honest but her voice fits this aesthetically very nicely.
I became obsessed with my college radio station over the Summer and its been one of my most played presets since. My favorite shows were the electronic ones they played at night that I heard a little faded driving home from hanging out with friends. Songs from this EP were played a lot. Great memories + jamming Deep House = the ranking on my list. It's not long at all but very listenable.
Kane West is definitely an outlier in the PC music group (you will see them a lot in my songs list, don't worry!) The songs are more traditionally structured yet the source material relies on many elements outside of the Y2K bubblegum pop boom. There are video game song samples, Macintosh computer noises, and all sorts of ******** in here, so it's a great EP to enjoy when you just wanna hear some high pitched pop subversions, though it feel like a lot less of a subversion than the rest of PC Music.
