I love the show. I've been watching it since it started last year, and I always crave it when it's not on the air. I'm excited for Helen and Cole's perspectives too as it'll add more variety in the episodes.

As much as i loved season 1, if there wasn't Helen's perspective (and Cole too i assume) in season 2 i don't think i would've watched.
Alison and Noah were becoming more and more unbearable.
The last two episodes of season 1 were quite impressive.
Especially 1.09, Maura Tierney asking "Was she...here?" was more terrifying than any creepy crime scene from True Detective and more importantly Ruth Wilson's monologue about her sons death was absolutely devastating, i'm not surprised at all that Ruth won the Golden Globe for Best Actress, if she submitted this episode. She owned it, truly danting.
In the 1.10, Joshua Jackson also had his own turn with the gun scene. He and Tierney didn't have much to do early on in the season, but they've truly been fantastic throughout.
And can someone explain me, how this show got completely snubbed at the Emmys and yet won 2 of the most prestigiuous awards at the Golden Globes (Best Actress, Best Drama) ??

Maura Tierney was one of my favorite things about last season so I am thrilled she is getting a POV this season. This premiere was really good and I am hooked like I was last season. Focusing on the ex-spouses this season is a great idea as I am very interested to see Cole's POV.
Dominic West is still a damn good actor, too bad Noah is a dick in everyone's perspective. Even his own
Oh and that opening theme by Fiona Apple

Seems like
Cole
is the one behind the murder judging by the way this episode ended. I personally think if that pans out, the show will become a lot more interesting. His motives and the complexities there are endless, as IMO he's the most compelling character in the show. There's a lot of layers there. The family stuff, conflict with his brother, resentment of Noah, resentment and regret regarding Alison and their history, the list goes on. The big question is what drives him to the point of resenting his brother enough and hating Noah enough to go through with it?
I find the dual pespectives device on this show frustrating at best, but this episode, with potentially the most extreme disconnect between its two narratives that we've ever seen on the show, actually left me feeling pretty OK with the device.
Every character on this show has their flaws that informs how they tell the story: - Noah feels like a victim.
- Alison is desperate for approval.
- Helen wants everything to be smooth and uncomplicated.
- And Cole, as seen in this episode, wants to think of himself as a good guy, even as he does some pretty awful things.

I thought it was a cute episode, especially Alison's arch was great. I'm so glad they didn't kill the dog, because I couldn't take that. I screamed
I hate Whitney. If mediation was stopped for immediate divorce, it does seem like she told Helen about Alison. Probably because Allison wouldn't give her Scotty's number.
This show has some lovely, realistic dialogue. The scene with Alison and Robert in the woods was great. Ruth Wilson
Anyway the ex-spouses POV are still better, can't wait for 2.04;

Maura Tierney
The episode should be renamed: "Noah the asshole" or "Never have kids"
The portrait of him in this episode was so unflattering, jesus. And the kids, unbearable.
I absolutely loved Noah's sister telling him the truth. That was a great exchange. What really made me angry was when he said that's what Helen did to him for 20 years. Look Helen isnt perfect, her family isnt but if u didnt manage to tell your wife about stuff that annoyes u and makes u unhappy for 20 years its your own god damn fault.
- "Why did you do this to us?" or "Why do you get to **** up and I don't?", whichever way it happened, that shut up Noah's protests real quick. Yas Helen clock that hoe!
I hate the fact that Helen will probably continue to punish herself because she is trying to find a rational answer for why Noah left, when Noah himself is the embodiment of irrationality. Sure, love isn't rational, but Noah takes the cake for not thinking things through before acting. I'd take a drugged out Helen over a sober Noah any day. The sad thing is that both Cole and Alison would make better parents than either of them - even with Cole's gun waving ordeal and selling crack.
Btw i really thought we'd get Cole's perspective back again in this ep', THEY OW US.

I didn't even realize that Noah was nowhere to be found in this episode (except for his voice) until after it was over. He was not missed. Let's forget about Noah and just focus on Cole every week.
That is one sexy man. Even his little beer belly is hot.
Anyway. I was hoping that we'd get to see Alison's day from someone else's perspective. Surely Yvonne wouldn't actually have been so short and cold with her all of a sudden. I wonder if Yvonne recounted the day from her point of view if we would see that Alison is just a really ****** assistant. Like you'll give her a list of things to do and she just stares out the window with tears in her eyes.
I had to fast forward through the latter half of Alison's scene with Robert. I could sense where it was going and when, on FWD, I saw the boner I went "Robert noooooooooo!" Can't anyone just be nice and decent? I wanted Alison to have an ally.
Aannnnd, when Cole showed up at that married woman's house, I totally thought he was a male prostitute.
So now I'm thinking...Alison's kid...possibly Cole's? Who knows, but something to ruminate over.

Can we all agree....Emmy for Tierney! I'll repeat myself on and on and on but she's incredible this season. She made teared up again
THANK YOU! I've been waiting since season one for Helen to tell her mom off. Finally.
Her parents influence over her has been driving me crazy since the beginning.
Alison feels at ease being celibate for the first since the show started, her mind is nice and clear but here comes Noah and his drug dick of misery to **** up her life once more. That was probably the worst thing he's done in quite some time.
I think it's blindingly obvious that the baby is Coles. Them hinting at the time frame makes this more so and i'm glad it is
That nurse was a massive bitch: 'My son is throwing up!' 'I'm calling security!'"

For me it's the first part of season 1 that almost made me drop the show, especially episode 1.04 and 1.05, so boring, thank god the end of the season slayed.
This season is really good so far, without significant relapse so far, mainly because of the addition of Cole and Helen's perspective, we're juggling between 4 perspective instead of 2 for season 1, they completely renewed the show.

Two terrible Thanksgivings add up to one fantastic episode. Really loved everything about it.
Good lord, I wanted Alison to throw a glass of wine, a centerpiece, something, at that obnoxious publicist.
Noah is the absolute pits and he treats Alison so terribly, but I just have to laugh at her; she chose this, she chooses to stay with him. I can't drum up an ounce of sympathy for Alison. Dumbass bitch.
When Cole's mother and Scotty were shooting each other guilty looks when Cole was talking about the book - did anyone else think they were going to reveal that they sold the rights to the family story to the publishing company? Or something to that effect? I wouldn't be overly surprised if something like that comes up later. Anyway i love spending time with the Lockharts. They have such a rich family history, so much texture, and are so just so interesting. They could really have their own show. That grandpa reveal was great.
So now with that cliffhanger i'm guessin Alison killed Scotty because he knew that she was pregnant of Cole and not Noah?
Probably not. They love to lean us towards a possible killer to then throw us off in the next episode ... I was so sure it was Noah then Cole and now Alison ...

After Whitney whining about not being in the book, it's interesting to see Helen remember talking about Whitney skipping college to model, and Noah doesn't remember it at all in his perspective.
He did not acknowledge her at all! He did not remember that he met his own daughter by surprise and that they talked about a potentially life-changing decision for her. So absorbed by getting a bad review in a student paper that his daughter didn't even blink into his memory of the tour. He is so far up his own ass right now, it's incredible.
I loved Whitney in this episode, whether it's on Helen or Cole's perspective (last week), she shows a great portrayal of an obnoxious teenage with human feelings/insecurity. In Alison and Noah's perspective she's just plain annoying and awful.

Alison just gave birth Cole's baby and she knew it. Alison's baby is supposed to be 5 weeks early, but the baby does not look premature and is not treated as a premature baby.
She may have lied to herself about the baby's father (there was a 4-week gap between Cole and Noah). With her early labor, she's admitted to herself that it is Cole's baby, so she was fighting the contraction and she was screaming, "I don't want this baby."
Man, this show really wants us to hate Noah. Good job, you did it! I let out a big laugh when it turned out to be Whitney in the hot tub and I also cackled gleefully when he got stuck in the mud
Eat ****, Noah.
