That's what they recalled. 8.0.1 was released and subsequently recalled earlier today because of phone issues. 8.0.0 is fine, aside from some minor issues, some of which were supposed to be fixed with 8.0.1

Yeah that's just rolling back/reversing the update but i don't think the average person will do it so recalling it and fixing for another is the most appropriate
