diversity for the sake of not looking racist is pandering. like i said before everything doesn't need to look like a college brochure

Fair enough if you don't agree with his opinion, but seriously? It's ONE person out of the whole black population. Don't please.

Because black people face racism more than anybody. And it's stuff like this:

There have been many similar instances before... Katy, Miley, Lily...

There are black people in almost every scene in the video, not to mention there are also white people in the twerking part.
People are literally looking for a reason to use the word "racist" and they're grasping at straws.
Haters gonna hate

If people get offended, let them speak out. It DOES make sense to why Miley was spoken out.

The issue with this quote is that unlike ballet, cheerleading, contemporary dance, and the other forms of dance in the video are not seen as "prestigious" and "white" by society. Ballet is often considered a very classy type of dance, so for that scene to not include black people is sort of iffy, especially since black people are included in the twerking and hip hop sections which are forms of dance often considered "ghetto" by society. In addition, what makes the white girl twerking "trashy"? Would that also mean the black girls are trashy? Are they only seen as trashy because they're twerking? Is twerking trashy? That's another issue. And throwing a white girl into the mix doesn't negate the fact that every time the camera zooms in, it's on a black butt. The main part of that scene was Taylor crawling through the legs and then looking up at a black woman's butt while she twerks. It's exploitation and objectifying black bodies in the name of "humor", and it's done far too often.
But at the end of the day, I don't think it makes Taylor racist. I don't think Taylor said to her team, "get me some black chicks with fat asses". It's just that the way white people/our society views twerking is very "black", and thus is why casting calls for videos and movies are often like, "we want twerking, so we need black people." It's an issue, definitely, but it's a product of casual racism as opposed to Taylor being flat out racist herself.
Side note, this Sweatshirt guy is an absolute jerk. He's a homophobe and a misogynist, so calling out anyone for anything is hypocritical. He can sit down.

It's not about black people or any other race being in every scene. It's about the fact that they're almost ONLY included in the twerking scenes, and not in "prestigious" ones like Ballet. Not hard to get.

In Taylor's case, she included white AND black people in most of the scenes. What do you want? Her to ask the director to ban black people from the twerking scenes? ![@michael.](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRL_Smilies_All/atrlers/micheal_zps45ccf519.gif) Oh wait, that'd also be racist.
The entire Shake it Off video is multicultural, there is no racial problem at all with the video. Anyone who says there is is looking for a reason to play the racial card.

Its not secret that people negatively associate black girls with twerking so lets not be dense here. In Miley's case it seems she seeks out black people to have an urban or "black" sound, thus exploiting them.
For Katy it was a bit tasteless to have her mummies with big butts and full lips, again associated with black women.. but then again people need to stop seeing big butts negatively and stop associating it with only black women.
This is kind of a reach though because the video doesn't only feature black girls in twerking scenes and it has people of all races nearly all dancing scenes.

I don't care what's in her video. I'm simply explaining what people are (validly) mad about.

What's there to be mad about? There are white AND black people in the twerking scene. What is she supposed to do? ![@michael.](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRL_Smilies_All/atrlers/micheal_zps45ccf519.gif)

So, she has to consciously have black people in everything? That sounds problematic tbh.

So he's judging the video based on a still shot? Mess.
There were black people throughout the video (more than I expected to see) and people want to be picky about the ballerina scene? Stop it.

The only thing problematic is if that's what you took from that.
