we probably have adele and definitely have taylor so that's maybe 3 because there's no way they won't sell at least 1 million. other than that, uh...i dunno. maybe sam smith will have like 4 more hits or something and make it by the end of the year? that's incredibly unlikely but it's all i can think of. i'm sure there will be at least 5 by the end but i don't have any idea what they'll be.

honestly the only reason 2013 had as many as it did was because there were so many major releases (eminem, beyonce, one direction, jay-z, drake, justin, luke bryan, and probably more i'm missing) so it's not quite as much of a drop as it looks like

Um, pop girls don't sell anymore. After all, the only femmes last year to've sold 1M+ were Katy & Beyonce.

So if an album sold 1 million in 2008 and 1 million in 2009, does it count for both years' totals?
If so, there are probably fewer unique entries here than the list makes it seem… plenty of albums have their sales split between two years.

Only one of the singles did anything on the charts though (Dark Horse) and that song is from September 2013 if we're being honest. So, yeah not surprised to see she isn't really pushing any more albums this year.

Taylor & 1D are almost guaranteed 1 million, so there will be at least 3.
Sam Smith & Lil Wayne could do it as well. Rihanna always gets close to 1 million by the end of the calendar year, but has only gotten to 800-900K before. If the rumored Oct 27th date is true, she could finally be able to sell 1M in a single year in the US.
