A waste to use all her 'comeback hype' on something so disposable in the end.

It re-enteted her into the Hot 100, #1 in 12 countries, top 20 in the US after 7 years and the music video has 16 million views...
You tried...

- Over 500 Magazine and Publications articles
- 1 Million Views on Youtube
- An entry to the Billboard HOT 100 (something she didnt always have)
- Some coins to her pocket cause at every Youtube play and every stream + digital purchase the bitch owns something
- A great way to help people warm up to her in today's music climate
Hilary Duff was NEVER hit maker so I doubt her label was even expecting the song to even CHART. Not every things was made to sell platinum and top the charts for 10 weeks. This was something get Hilary name OUT and again, warm up people to the fact that she is back.
You can go back and try again, mama

Charted for 1 week in the lower regions of the hot 100, it didn't go #1 in 12 countries and the countries it did were tiny markets that take at most 10 copies to go #1. It didn't even go top 20 on iTunes (peaked at #21 according to Kworb and now currently sits at #900 something.) Not to mention her views were highly fueled by nostalgia "Oh Hilary! I remember her! Lizzie and What Dreams Are Made Of!" yet they didn't purchase the song.

...all that and less than 50k. I mean if these are your standards, good. But usually you'd expect more from someone with so much "GP appeal" and being the "most remembered Disney girl".

Babe, it went #1 in 12 countries. It's a fact and you better accept it. Don't be rude.

Seriously, why are you even here?
Hilary's last album sold gold and that was 7 years ago. You'd think she would drop a song now and would be #1 for 10 weeks? Get on the move, child, you are the one with irrealistic predictions not me or anyone else with low standards.

Good God I didn't known Hilary had haters like this! Anyways it was a good idea! I'm sure the video didn't cost much to make and it let people know she was back. The video views alone show that people are interested in her.

these two haters are so RIDICULOUS
the Queen released buzz single before - check Play with Fire, and she did again this time with Chasing the Sun
The hate must have blinded them Is it THAT hard to understand something so simple? Get a life please I guess you have nothing better to do than fuming and spreading your negativity online

It's actually really simple to understand that if a song is released, and most of the PR about it says "lead single" and the word "buzz" is never mentioned, and a music video is made for it, and it has a party surrounding it's release, and then it gets generally panned and is subsequently referred to as a "buzz single", that it was just a case of trying to save face. If this was meant for buzz, why didn't they say so, so that we would all be more excited about the "REAL" lead single that was to come instead of now doubting it?

Hilary or the label NEVER mentioned that it's the buzz or lead single the media just assumed that, and they even reported that it's the Ed Sheeran-written song
for a hater, you sure do read a lot of articles about her
and for the record, NO RADIO ADD DATE was announced BEFORE, IN or AFTER the release of the song. don't you think if it's a REAL lead single the label should've had everything planned out already, or at least TRIED to promo it for one week
the intention of CTS was to be a buzz single. Simple as that Haters gonna hate and say whatever pressed things they want

The (full) interview was great to watch.
She's so mature and down to earth, gotta love her.

lol, who said I read a lot about her? I just typed in "hilary duff chasing the sun lead single" and a lot of credible publications were calling it as such. If it was not, wouldn't the PR team giving everyone the information correct it? Maybe not though.
Maybe it is a buzz single. It very well could be. But in a world where so many artists trying to make comebacks release a single and music video only to later call it a buzz single, and in a forum where people routinely refer to flop songs as buzz singles as jokes, it's not far fetched to imagine that this is what is going on here, especially when you yourself have no proof that it was always intended to be a buzz single, do you?
