If Gaga is not on the list, then Ke$ha should not be either. She may have done videos with LGBT people but I don't see how much that has helped the gay community, when most of the artists on the list either did it in a time when LGBT was far less cool or did it better when it was more accepted.

Yes. Things like Same Love, Really Don't Care video, and being a spokesman of an anti-bullying foundation did not "help" the LGBT movement. At all.

I would agree. I don't think Same Love did as much as they could have if they were released 10, 15, or 20 years ago. But having a song (a rap song no less) become a Top 15 hit and a rap hit on the subject of gay marriage is a big accomplishment and is a very visible way of supporting LGBT rights. Also it is very explicit in what it is saying, it's not just words that can be interpreted a certain way to be pro-LGBT.

Cher is more of an icon than an activist though. I agree she should be on the list but Madonna's number one is far more deserved, but maybe I'm missing some important pieces of information in regards to what Cher has done for the community.
