I'm sorry, but I used to think Gaga's songs were... you know... always Gaga's songs. In the way that they started with her and that she was involved in their development.
Maybe I misinterpreted her words, but the way she always talks about her songwriting ability, I didn't expect her to use sounds/melodies that were just handed to her. First the Aura instrumental, now this...
Maybe I'm overreacting, but I use to see her as next to Taylor Swift when it comes to songwriting, in the way that she had dominance over it. Now I see no difference between her and Katy Perry when it comes to this subject.

It's actually the case when you work with producers.

It's pretty normal for most producers to use stuff they've already got done - i.e. if an artist likes one of your works that you've done previously and not properly released it's easier to use it, as it means less work and quicker turn around time.

WaiT, the vocals production suits this instrumental better.

And I don't get the meltdowns about her songwriting ability, if anything this and Donatella demo proves she's capable of writing lyrics and constructing new melodies from scratch, creating a totally different song.

That said, I don't find this using premade instrumentals bad, it's just it works better for her when she's involved in a song completely, as proven with ArtPop.

Yup I agree. She is capable of reworking a song with premade instrumentals (which is fine I guess), but I prefer her more organic song when she plays them on a piano first and then creates the production based off of that. Her songs on The Fame all sounded better because of that process, methinks. All of her melodies sounded so polished and infectious because she made them on the piano first.
