YouTube's gotten embarrassingly bad, I used to love Shane Dawson, Jenna Marbles, Kingsley, Jack and Finn. Now I just watch Mark E Miller and Ethan Hethcoat from time to time.

I don't really watch the big channels. Non of them talk about anything interesting it's just all celebrity gossip and terrible comedy, if I wanted that then I would be watching MTV.

Gigi Gorgeous, 2minjinkjongkey, BFvsGF, MilesJai, sometimes stillsoundlyawake I kinda got annoyed with them, cookingwithdog, ochikeron, and HallyuBack are the only ones I really like. They aren't all vlog channels but they're channels I enjoy most of the time.

By the amount of views (they get paid for ads on their videos) and endorsing crappy products.. They are always begging for likes and subs and always doing videos with other youtubers, who they probably don't even like, to get their subs.

Ads and views. Then they get offers from companies for product placement and then if they're lucky they get offers from tv and do movies and web series, write books, etc.

And for those asking if YouTubers make money, believe me, they do. They can make anywhere from 100K to over a million. The key is ad revenues and product placements. The reason why all the big name YouTubers always remind people to Like, Favorite, and Subscribe is because the more subscribers they have = more cash in their pocket. Even the younger YouTubers like Rebecca Black and Lohanthony are collecting coins left and right.
