Either gender can be the head of a family. In fact, I don't like the idea of anybody being the "leader" or "head" in a marriage, at least not in my ideal marriage. You can co-lead. You can be equal.

Interestingly, in the US divorce rates among Christians (including conservatives) tend to be the highest where as Atheists are the lowest. So maybe a bible based marriage is not the best kind of marriage after all?

yes, but there still needs to be someone with a little more responsibility. you can be equal but still have a leader and it'll work. i see it with my parents all the time, and they are NOT the stereotypical radical Christian married couple. my mom even calls my dad out on his ****, the marriage is biblical but it's not traditional and it works. it's very possible to be equals but have a leader. it's because you work through your differences and accept the fact that it's not up to YOU it's up to both of you coming to some kind of decision and the leader making the final one, presented with all of the information.

it's a relationship that's built on trust that the leader will make the right decision and sticking with them even if it ends up not being so. if you trust that person enough then i works. if you can't then i strongly suggest you don't marry them. relationships need trust.
