You and I don't know Raven's fanbase, or its size. The magazine cover she was on was JET magazine, a primarily African American magazine read by people PAST the age of 25 (I read it). That automatically reduces the size of people aware of her album, which she barely mentioned on top of that. You also say the single didn't "burn up" the charts, well if wasn't meant to and it wasn't even sent to radio.
Listen I'm not here to argue, I am just trying to point out the cracks in your argument. You don't really seem to know much of Raven-Symone, or her record.

I really don't know her or her record...Well except knowing her from her tv show and trying to listen to her single which I didn't like.
I'm not trying to argue or w/e just saying that I agree with you that promotion was part of the problem but I don't agree it was the only problem.

No I know Raven isn't hugely successful or a million-seller. I just know she is talented and I enjoy her music. This is actually the first album of hers I have. I don't like to push my tastes on people or such.

I knew Raven wouldn't sell 1,000,000. She could of easily, though, have sold near 500,000 is she was promoted though.

Cause Raven is not cool, never has been, never will be, and that's the honest truth. Her image is completely wrong for that of a popstar (it's shallow, but she's not pretty and certainly does not have the body) and in popular music a good image and the "cool" factor (neither of which Raven has) are a huge part of the equation. Those songs that sold so well because the people performing them have star personalities and a certain hip factor. In other words, they aren't chunky 37 year-olds still working for the mouse.

she is a FAILED pop artist.. look at Miley Cyrus... she has a hit show on Disney, as did Raven, and Miley can sell by herself. Her single is a top 10 hit on Billboard, and Raven.... she HAD the same potential, but she failed to utelize it. I think even her Raven soundtracks, flopped, but not as hard as her solo projects. She wanted to be a famous singer, she had the chance, but she didn't seem to care let alone know what the word "promotion" means, therefore she is a FAILURE. plain and simple.
