I mean Maroon 5 resurrected her , Pitbull is the actual "king" of pop he has never flopped even though i hate him but it's a fact. He's been more relevant than most of our faves

It was definitely not the other way around.

]Maroon 5 had been underperforming for a long time before 'MLJ'. Internationally, they were flopping. Their lead single didn't crack the Top 10 in any major markets and it was only a moderate hit in the US thanks to airplay. It did worse than Christina's 'NMT'. The subsequent singles failed to chart in any important markets except for the US, where they didn't do that well either. 'MLJ' had a very similar sound to these flop songs, so logically it should have performed just like they did. Christina saved it, as well as the album sales, the international status and the career of Maroon 5.
Pitbull had also been underperforming before 'FTM'. If you don't count the re-release, which includes 'Timber', 'FTM' was the first Top 10 hit he scored from his album. The lead single with Shakira flopped internationally and did worse than Christina's solo singles and 'DSTP' was a decent hit in the US and in a few major markets, but it was far from the smash that he needed. 'FTM' brought him back and it's one of his biggest radio hits to date. It opened the doors for 'Timber'
