I think the period ends November, Mariah would've been #1 if it was the whole year. She gained a 3rd Top 2 hit, "Don't Forget About Us" went #1 in December. + her album sold a lot in December.

Just like she didn't have the Top Album of 2005 on Billboard Year-End but from January-December 2005 (the whole year) she had the Top-Selling Album.
