Very happy to say this year's countdown is the 5th annual. Started back in 2003, and have to say that I still love and listen to almost every song I've put in my top 5, let alone in my countdown. So without further ado, let's get this PARTY STARTED!!

I don't think NIN released an official video for this song, but that'll have to make do. For the past 3 years, NIN has been a staple in the top 25. In 2005, they hit #16 with "Only," barely missed the top 20 with last year's "Every Day is Exactly the Same," and this year finally cracked the top 5 with "Capital G." Ironically, I never latch on to any of their lead off singles, but the subsequent ones seem to grab me. Whether or not capital G is about God, George W. Bush, or "greed," its undeniably Good with a capital G.

#4. "The Way I Are" by Timbaland feat./ DOE and Keri Hilson


Many things annoy me about this song: 1) Why it's not called "the way YOU are", 2) why Keri Hilson has to go on and on and on with a whole bunch of nonsense in the song's final minutes, and 3) the fact that Timbaland's name comes before the "feat./". Aside from that, i love this song. Hands down the best hiphop song of the year. It solidified that Timbaland hadn't lost his touch, and showed that even while producing for everyone else, he could still top them all on the charts.

:Cringe: Alright, so it's my biggest guilty pleasure of the year. Truthfully, you really can't deny the transformation that Hilary's gone through. Although mostly overlooked, she's leaped bounds from her early days as the star of Disney's Lizzie Mcwhatever into the sex symbol she is today. "Stranger" is probably her strongest song to date, and I'm pissed that top 40 overlooked this one. But then again, aren't they always anti-experimental? Hilary looks incredible in the video, and the "Indian" beat just adds to her deliciousness. Sorry if you want to hate, but there's nothing 'strange' about this one.
