So I apologize for not commenting on much of these -- I have exams this week but once I have free time, I will be back.
Now up, some R&B-pop (tune out if you don't like -- but I know some of you will appreciate
) and some more American Idol alum.
24. Ne-Yo, "Do You"
So I agree that
Because of You isn't as good as
In My Own Words, but this song is still good. For me, it was a nice, chill summer song. Ne-Yo is so talented as well -- he can sing AND write, which is hard to come by in today's industry. I've been a fan of everything he's done (except that dreadful "Sexual Healing" duet with Sarah Connor
) so far and can't wait for more from him. "Do You" peaked at
#1 (3 times) on my countdown this year.
23. Omarion featuring Usher, "Ice Box (Remix)"
The original of this song was good, but the remix is just crazy. Usher killed this and made Omarion look like a fool on his own song.
Anyway, this is by far the best thing Omarion has ever done, solo career and with B2K. Of course, the mastermind Timbaland was behind this great song. Too bad I can't say the same about his gay marriage album with Bow Wow.
Seriously, "Girlfriend" is terrible. Anyway, "Ice Box" and its remix peaked at
#2 on my countdown this year.
22. Carrie Underwood, "Before He Cheats"
Another song from the very, very hot Carrie Underwood. I'm so proud of everything she's been able to do. This song smashed records, having the 3rd longest stay on the Billboard Hot 100. Here is an example where a perfect song matched the perfect vocalist and the perfect artist. I said it before and I'll say it again (although I might need a shield
), Shania needs to move over because we have a new country queen. "Before He Cheats" peaked at
#2 on my countdown this year.
