The Americas are TWO continents, not just one. North America and South America are part of "The Americas," not "America."
Central America is not a continent
It is the end of North America from Guatemala/Belize to Panama. It's an isthmus that connects North America to South America.
Pan-America is a synonym for "The Americas."
"America," in its singular form, refers to the United States of America.
