Lol at you saying that Aaliyah is a legend.Icon,maybe.But she already flopped with second album and wiill be in no better position than Monica or Brandy now.
BUT aaliyah could act.if she flopped in music (which she wasn't at the time of death) she could have had a successful movie career.

nnnnn what kind of uneducated response? Her second album was her most successful and launched Timbaland and Missy Elliott into megastardom in the late 90's so fall back you parasite

Well....we will never know.I honestly think she will be nowhere. Her second album already undeprformed so....
And those person who asked about who Aallyah is probably was trolling. He has Gaga on avi so he is just defending R.Pissy because Gaga made a duet with him.
I think, again, everybody has to individually answer. I can still listen to Led Zeppelin and take joy in Led Zeppelin or James Brown. I condemn the things they did.
What the hell did James Brown ever do?
There was only an alleged rape, he was sent to jail for armed robbery, assaulted police, had a high-speed car chase on Interstate 20, attacked an electrician with a steak knife, and repeatedly beat up his wife and even shot at her car.
But he never seriously harmed anyone, so this blogger should leave him the hell alone... he's not here to defend himself.

Well i didn't know it sold 2m copies.Still less than first one and not very good in 2001 a year were sales were at it's peak.
Ok.
One in a Million was a slow and steady build but ended up being a hugely successful era and respected album that gave two (soon to be mega producers/artists/writers) their big break. Off that album alone she got the lead single off of the Dr. Doolittle soundtrack the classic Are You That Somebody? and scored her debut film role in the major motion picture Romeo Must Die which also spawned her #1 single Try Again (off of airplay strength only and she also beat out Christina and Britney that year for Best Female Video at the VMAS) so all y'all hating asses FALL ALL THE WAY BAAAAAACK None of y'all faves had the beauty, talent, support and connections Aaliyah had in music and film at the ages of 19-22 that Aaliyah had so plzzzz bitches don't EVEN TRY IT not to mention big directors like Joel Silver adored her and were bursting at the seems to put her in more movies (Matrix 2,3) and other film roles

She couldn't flop. Did you forget about Timbaland success in mid-00's? If she was here...

I don't agree. I don't know if she would have weathered Hurricane Bey. Crazy as it sounds, I had forgotten that Baby girl and R. Kelly were married and that he wrote AANBAN.

this is true. people give her WAAAYYY too much. She had an alright run in music and one big smash aka "Try Again." Her sales overall were decent and passable. Critics were mostly favorable towards her music. How the hell is she a legend/icon?
We'll never know where she'd be in the industry now, but if we look at her music career, there's nothing iconic or legendary about anything she's done. She's had memorable moments though. Rest in peace.
