FAVORITE NON-SINGLE
ARIANA GRANDE f/ NATHAN SYKES - ALMOST IS NEVER ENOUGH
From Yours Truly
I think this was pretty obvious. I mean look at my avi. Anyway, this song really made me turn into a huge Ariana fan. The lyrics, the melody, and that frickin' voice. Plus of course it is from the City of Bones soundtrack so there's that. The soundtrack version was slightly better than the full album version but it was still so magnificent. Anyway, this was the song that made me realize that, hey, probably Ariana may be the next Mariah after all.
Runners-Up: (One Of Those) Crazy Girls and Walking On Air
In early 2013 when this song started getting famous, I didn't really connect as much to it as I did for It's Time. But only after it got overplayed in the local radio and in local TV and even in the gym outside my dormroom did I get really hooked. Plus college really changed my perspective because my peers were almost exclusively Imagine Dragons fans as well. This is basically the reason why it only charted two weeks in my countdown (and peaked only at #18) but will have a REALLY high rank in my best of. Watch out for that!
For the third special category, these are five of the many songs which I really like that won in my iTunes USA game in the Games section (duh). The nominees for this category are those which won most impressively like on their first try and those which won the quarterly sets. Plus of course my personal taste. So here are the nominees for:
FAVORITE iTUNES MC WINNER!
The nominees are:
Avril Lavigne - Here's To Never Growing Up(April 13 + Best of 2nd Quarter)
Imagine Dragons - Demons (Best of 3rd Quarter)
One Republic - If I Lose Myself (Best of 1st Quarter)
Pink - Just Give Me A Reason (feat. Nate Ruess) (March 8)
For the fourth special category, these are upbeat songs which either made me dance in the bathroom and/or I actually danced to in a competition (which is why some are not so dancey but are here ). Anyway, these are my:
FAVORITE DANCE TRACK!
The nominees are:
Bruno Mars - Treasure
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Thrift Shop (feat. Wanz)
Robin Thicke - Blurred Lines (feat. T.I. & Pharrell)
Selena Gomez - Slow Down
Zedd - Clarity (feat. Foxes)
Any thoughts about the first set? Any thoughts on the winners of the first two categories? Any guesses on the winners of iTunes and Dance? Tune in in a few hours for the results as well as two more nominations and those ranked 180-161!
