First up we have one of those new artists that I was talking about. I discovered FKA Twigs while browsing youtube and looking at my suggested videos. What I discovered is the cool vibes and soft mellow production towards this relaxing song. The sense of subtle sensuality ties it all in together to make for a beautiful single.
The domination of UK artists continues! Both Bastille and Gabrielle Aplin released albums and singles throughout the year. However, in both cases I found the albums to be very... decent. It was actually this single, which sees the two acts collaborate, that caught my attention. Its a cover of the Fleetwood Mac song. Usually I tend not to like covers, but the haunting melody and harmony of their two voices works very well here. I also think Dan Smith has one of the best male voices in pop music today.
Kacey Musgraves truly blew everyone out of the game with her album earlier this spring. Of course, she's proven herself to be a beautiful songwriter but when it comes to her own music I found there is an added edge to it. This song in particular has a hoarser tone to her voice and a strong feeling all throughout. I can assure you this won't be the last you see of her!
