Nope. Superbowl, $50 million Pepsi deal for "Grown Woman," H&M commercial, Inauguration performance, etc. A surprise release does not negate the visibility and saturation she's had the entire year.
This is about as dumb as claiming the x factor was promo for britney jean. The king B has you so pressed right now
No, it's more to do with her star power, and I'm not sure teasing it for a year incessantly since a SB performance is exactly no promo
That said, I'm proud of how well she's doing despite not being a stan and it will make it a lot harder to apply to people considered 'legends' when their albums flop.
she had the buzz for an upcoming album all year, people wondering when it would come out. Then out of nowhere, she releases it and had everybody talking about it.
That one move gave her the best "promo" of all the pop girls this year.

All of this was at the beginning of the year. Acting like all of that JUST happened and people are still yapping about all of it regularly on twitter!
Nah. Her team knew how much buzz this would create. It was a brilliant move on their part however. I mean they let anticipation build and then when you least expect it. BAM. Now look how much coverage it's getting, this album will sell very well during the holidays because of this "drop an album out of nowhere technique" kudos to Bey. I'll be copping this album for sure.
She promoted in a different way. She went around the world and showed everyone first hand that there's a void without her. She performed in front of the largest television audience in the world. She made every hungry and wondering. It's ****ing genius.
Yes. But it's obvious she is smashing on iTunes when it is not available anywhere else. I am really curious about her total sales in like a year. If she pulls more than 1.5M then I will call this a big success.
