But I have a vital question. If I release an album this week, and barely anyone else does will I still be able to get my chart position + points for it? I think it was unfair in the past my artist lost success because we simply 'had to wait for enough releases' for a chart.

Even if I was the only one, when publishing the singles chart you could write along the lines of "In other news, Justin Bieber debuts #1 with ____ sold on the albums chart.".

Yes, you'll be able to chart & get points for it. You won't lose out on anything for releasing so quickly.
