Exactly. She was never a #1 force to be reckoned with in the first place, so I'm not sure what everyone was expecting. Applause is doing well, and is being received much more positively than most of her BTW singles.
Because no one in real life should give a **** about how Applause is doing in the chart or how Gaga's career is going
Seriously, all the ATRL threads lately, why the hell do you care so much? Anyone with half a brain knows that Commercial success doesn't reflect the quality of the music which should always be the first priority. If you get so much satisfaction from how Gaga is "flopping", you need to get a life.

Some artists would kill for her sales
So if you're mature enough, you can just enjoy the music (which is the problem for most of her fans, they focus more on her sales than her art and that's exactly what she doesn't want, especially this era I think.)
As someone who stanned hard during TF/M eras, and left during the BTW era, I'm enjoying this era so far (in a world where the lyric video doesn't exist).
I did not give up. I am just taking a break from stanning cause applause did not serve. But im sure VMA's/music video or in worst case second single will earn me back.
Applause is doing well, and is being received much more positively than most of her BTW singles.
