Well, it's not exactly what you think. Korean digital music stores offer subscriptions that let you download, let's say, 100 songs for a certain price. Bundled music downloading used to be popular in the US too but then iTunes came along

Excuse me? If you take a look at the
downloads chart of the first half of 2013 in Korea you'll see that all but 3 of those songs in the top 10 are either ballads or mid-tempos. The most popular American artists in Korea right now are Bruno Mars and Maroon 5 which isn't generic either so don't talk about something you don't know about
