DC.
I just like DC's characters more.
Marvel overall has excelled at great Superhero films. Some have been lacking ( Iron Man 2 & 3, THOR, both Hulk films, the 2 horrendous Fantastic 4 films) But some have been amazing as well ( Iron Man, Avengers, X-Men 1 & 2, Captain America, Rami's first 2 Spidey films)
I still feel there has not been a trilogy of superhero films as influential as TDK trilogy. Nolan took Batman from ice skating with Mr. Freeze to a critically acclaimed film series. He set Batman in a realistic, crime drama noir setting.
Let's not even discuss how DC was the original. I mean 1978's Superman:The Movie set the standard for Superhero films.
I will say this, DC is the originator, they started Superheros, but currently MARVEL is kicking their asses. Hopefully if Man of Steel is a success we will get more great films, as well as solo films for The Flash, Wonder Woman, a reboot of Green Lantern * dear god the Reynolds film was horrid*

Wonder where they got that idea from?

MARVEL set up its film universe perfectly.
DC should take notes.
I will not have WB/DC rush into a JLA film without the proper set up, i won't have it.

The Dark Knight Trilogy is incredible But other than that, DC films are a joke. The Batman movies, Catwoman, Superman Returns, Green Lantern, even the old Superman movies. Marvel had great movies before Phase One (X-Men series, Spider-Man & Spider-Man 2), and even when they weren't critically successful, they were still commercially successful (Fantastic Four, Spider-Man 3). They had some missteps (Elektra, Ghost Rider), but ever since Iron Man, they've just been unstoppable. The Iron Man trilogy, X-Men: First Class, The Amazing Spider-Man, Captain America, Thor, and The Avengers (the highest grossing comic book movie of all time)... there is no competition. I didn't see Disney trying to snatch the rights to DC films
DC definitely beats Marvel in the TV show department -- there are so many good Batman shows. But Marvel had a really great run with the X-Men Animated Series and has had a couple of good Spider-Man shows, plus they've got Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D lined up for the fall and it will almost certainly be successful, critically and with audiences.
As far as characters, I think it's personal preference DC has Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman, but Marvel has Spider-Man, the X-Men (an entire team of iconic characters), Hulk, Iron Man, and I'd say even the Fantastic Four are more well known than characters like the Green Lantern. However, I will say that DC's villains >>>>>> I mean, Batman's villains alone are amazing. Spider-Man has some good villains, but DC definitely wins that race.
I prefer Marvel, and think it's the superior company.

Hey now, the first 2 Chris Reeve Superman films are great !
I'm pretty excited for the Fantastic 4 Reboot that's in progress. The only thing the 2005 and 2007 films had to offer were Jessica Alba in a skin tight suit.
I also am excited to see what Joss has up his sleeve for Avengers 2.
While i prefer DC, i do think MARVEL has set the standard on how to set up a cinematic universe. Ever since Iron Man, Marvel has been at the top of their game.
Again, if WB/DC doesn't rush into a JLA film and it takes notes from Marvel and sets up its universe right, DC could have a very successful cinematic universe. It all depends though on how Man of Steel does critically and profitably. If Mos flops, WB will not try and push a JLA film, they'll just play it safe and make another Batman reboot.
But i don't see that happening, MOS is tracking at making around 100-120 million dollars opening weekend. Nolan's name alone is generating interest.

Agreed. I mean, the casting was perfect for all the characters, but they were messy.

I hope the reboot is taken with a bit more seriousness.
Reed, Susan, Johnny, and Ben are a family unit, they banter and argue with themselves. However, the filmmakers of the 05 and 07 films took that family unit humor too far and it became campy and parody-like.

Yes, Marvel does have DC when it comes to movies. The way the set up their Universe in the films is perfect. And as MonsterConner said, DC needs to take notes.
However when it comes to the Comic Universes, I believe DC is superior. The Crisis on Infinite Earths storyline > any Marvel storyline. To me even the characters are better. But as mentioned before, it's all up to personal preference.
Personally, I think TDK trilogy is better than any film Marvel has yet to release, but hey, that's just me.

DC because of the DCAU and the comics
Both of the big two have big, problematic issues with their portrayal of women, but IMO, DC tries a little bit harder and makes more of an effort to develop its female characters. Female characters have their own books in DC (Wonder Woman, Birds of Prey, Fairest, Supergirl, the short lived "Vodoo", etc.). Everyone's making a big fuss over this new all female squad X-Men book, but it's 2013, you know?
DC also does better on the LGBT front, like literally. There was a trans character that was just introduced in Batgirl. Kathy Kane (Batwoman), a lesbian, has her own book. Alan Scott (Green Lantern) is gay in the Earth 2 book. Stormwatch, which is kind of like an extreme justice league, has a married gay couple Apollo and Midnighter (I don't know if they're still married in the New 52, but I know they're still gay), and they're the main characters, even what's his name, the gay hispanic character in the Teen Titans reboot book. Renee Montoya (the Question) is a lesbian. The only gay characters I know of in Marvel are Wican and Hulkling in Young Avengers, and I just know about them in passing because I don't really read Marvel books.
Then there's the POC issue. DC does better with that, too, IMO. There's a whole universe (Milestone comics) that DC has absorbed with black, lead characters (Icon, Static Shock, Rocket). Batwing (David Zavimbe, Batman of Africa) has a book. Static had a book, but I think it was cancelled. John Stewart stars in one of the Green Lantern books. Ryan Choi (the Atom, or at least, he used to be the Atom), my sexy boos Kaldur and Black Manta, Katanna, Lady Shiva, Cheshire, Artemis, Gypsy, Vixen, and then there's Max up in my avi from Batman Beyond and Karen (Bumblebee) Beecher.
I know Marvel has Storm and Black Panther, Forge, Nick Fury, Blade, Jubilee, Psylocke (I think she's Asian). I'm having trouble coming up with others, and not just because I don't read Marvel, but as a black woman, DC's friendlier to me, so that's what I mostly read and watch.

I hate all of DC comics' good guys. Their protagonists are always boring.
Marvel has some of the best on the other hand.
DC has some awesome villains. The best in the business. Marvel's arent too far behind, though.
And Marvel's universe is far above DC's, so Marvel is my pick easy.

You seem like you're much more familiar with the DC Universe, which is totally fine, but don't use your lack of knowledge as a way to make Marvel look like it's coming up short. Marvel had the first openly gay superhero, Northstar. Psylocke is not Asian. There are just as many random Marvel characters that are not white as there are DC ones that you've listed. Marvel has Falcon, the first African American superhero in mainstream comics, as well as Luke Cage and over 100 other black superheroes. DC has a ton, too, but it's not as one sided as it seems like you're trying to make it.
