I assume the song is based off of the "black slaves were not given freedom and were held in chains in the past; today you have black rappers wearing chains as luxury items" view. I believe there is an image saying something similar out there? I remember annoying people on Facebook sharing it.... Kanye seems like he is saying "yeah we know we are new slaves and we plan on enjoying ourselves regardless". Slaves to the music industry, labels, endorsements, etc.
