This proves ABSOLUTELY nothing. CD sales are based on the artist more vocally than anything and everyone knows concerts sell based on performances exclusively. It is obvious that artist such a Madonna and Britney Spears will have the clear advantage, when Mariah Carey can't even dance. Now let's flip over to album sales.
"The Emancipation Of Mimi" - 6 million
"Confessions On A Dance Floor" - 2 million
It all evens out in the end, but literally, I think the album sales are a better indication. 
How the hell did Shakira get brought up into this? OBVIOUSLY tickets are going to sell to see her "hips shake" but of plz, can you say re-release for OFV2 (still only @ 1million)?

It's sad that she's only touring in the U.S.A. I wanted to see her.  But I guess there isn't any point in touring through Europe.

OF2 1.2 million........... madonna CODF 1.5 million .......... dont see a diference...... yet also forgeting 1 million fom FO1 ..........
and i doubt people will be paying $200 - $3,000 to only see HDL Shakira is just a great peformer
not even mariah with her 6 million CD's sold is able to pull that

hm according to Ticketmaster the lowest price is $15 and the highest is like $120...so if people are paying those prices then they're doing it on ebay and only big fans will do that...the same for any artist.

theres also auctions in ticketmaster ..... and $15 tickets never existed .... i tried to get some myself to sell them
and Miami and Mcallen date sold out in 1 day ....

I think most people want to see a HUGE concert, with special effects and stuff like that. They're more interested in an incredible performer (in this case, Madonna) than in an incredible singer (Mariah).

OF2 and FO1 are two DIFFERENT CDs, so don't try and pull them together, unless of course we are now comparing total sales for both Shakira and Mariah Carey and seeing who's are bigger? As for wut Nick says, $15-$120 is nowhere near $200-$3,000 for a ticket, so I doubt if Shakira was selling tickets for the same price as Mariah's they would be selling that well.

I think its because both Shakira and Madonna have proved to be really good with tours, their concerts are true spectacles, spcieally Madonna. Plus her carreer is way longer than Mariah's and well, she's Madonna.
